Elvira Williams and the St George Singers from Manchester performed in Esztergom Basilica, we are delighted to receive this feedback about the Danube river cruise, a sightseeing coach tour and a dinner for 68 people.

The taxis from the airport all turned up on time, the boat trip was obviously one of the best available in Budapest with a very modern boat and polite staff. The guided sightseeing tour was excellent and the guide a very inspiring man. All the arrangements you confirmed for us at Esztergom were just right and the interpreter was charming. She really enjoyed our performance and the recital given by our organist on that magnificent organ was the biggest musical sound we had ever encountered. The cathedral has a seven second echo!
The folk evening went very well. We were welcomed by the owner who mentioned you in person. The coach drivers were charming and waited patiently for us at the end of the evening...
You have been very efficient and helpful and many compliments were paid to your organization whilst we were on tour.
There is a very special concert which is going to take place in Esztergom on 1 and 2 September to celebrate 150 years. It is the Mass by Liszt written for that Basilica. I am already considering returning to Budapest for this event . . .

"J M and I have just returned from a superb four days in Budapest. Our programme, beginning and ending with the transfers from and to the airport, was ideally suited to our needs.
We enjoyed the Gellert Hotel so much - courteous service, good and reasonably priced food in the hotel restaurant, wonderful rooms with their beautiful views onto the River Danube and Liberty Bridge and, of course, the use of the Baths - we used them every day.
In addition to the stunning Folk Ensemble concert - with costumes all in black and white and a great array of dancers and instrumentalists, and the colourful operetta evening on the river - Verdi's Otello - an outstanding experience.
We found Newcastle a very good airport for departure and landing . . .
Thankyou again and I hope we can manage to visit Hungary and beautiful Budapest in the near future.

Hello, I had such a great time that I could speak for hours about it. The Medosz hotel in Budapest was what you described. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was good. The cafes and bars are a good selling point for the hotel location. The Panzio hotel in Hajduszoboszlo was brand new it seemed. The staff there were very helpful too. In Keszthely I saw the most gorgeous house . . .

We just returned from our holiday in Budapest and Mako and wanted to thank you for the excellent arrangements. Both hotels were ideally situated and good value for money. And the internal travel worked well too. For information - we found that the train tickets included reserved seats, printed on the tickets themselves, albeit hard to see.
I appreciate it is a well-known problem that there are lots of dishonest taxi drivers there. I would like to let the Minister of Tourism know that he needs to be less tolerant of this, and get this eradicated. I use taxis a lot on business in European capitals, and there is no problem elsewhere. We were caught once, so switched to buses. So the taxi business loses out because of dishonesty, as well as discouraging tourism.

"The Hotel is great - the grand dame of Budapest - but a bit tired around the edges but that did not matter. The Hotel spa was excellent and I had a great Thai massage. Highlights - Matthias Church, view from Fisherman's Bastion and the Opera House. We also really enjoyed the cafe culture. The transfers were great and made life very easy.
Less keen on public taxis - they try and rip you off! Air Malev was good but they overbooked the flights both ways - mainly people transferring - we nearly missed the plane out there - so I suggest you advise people to get to the airport early for both ways. Nothing below expectation - a good value and memorable trip - a glimpse of the beauty of Hungary - many thanks for organising it for us.

"I had a wonderful time thank you and both the driver and the guide were really nice and good company. Robert particularly was an excellent guide and very interesting - his private tour of Budapest was probably the highlight - we spent about 5 hours looking around Budapest and he pointed out all his favourite buildings, murals, statues etc . The day trip was also good although the weather was not ideal - we skipped the basilica as Robert thought it would be too much for one day, visited the castle although we could hardly see the Danube!, had a good lunch in the artists colony village and then went to the open air museum which I thought was really interesting in fact I could have spent a lot longer there - I would really recommend it.
The only slight disappointment was Monday as I had set that aside for going to the Gellert baths but as it was Easter Monday, all the baths were closed - it would have been good to know that in advance and I told the hotel that as I could have gone on Friday or Saturday. As it was I didn't even get to see the Gellert pool!
Next time, I want to spend time just going to the various indoor and outdoor baths and spas and walking around when all the trees and flowers are out eg St Margaret Island but I will be in touch nearer the time as I will probably book an airport pick up, Budapest card and will discuss maybe a Danube Bend boat trip one day.

"We were ripped off twice when we were in Hungary by taxi drivers. In Budapest that we picked up outside a hotel in Deak Ter charged us F6000 for a trip to Nepliget! He appeared to have an official taxi with a meter that travelled faster that he did. Most of the fare seemed to be "extra" to the rate shown. In spite of protesting he refused to release our luggage from the boot until we paid and threatened to call the police if we did not pay in full.
In Debrecen we picked up a taxi in the official rank outside the railway station to take us to our hotel. He drove round in a circle of the city on the ring round to he came back to within one block of the railway station again and then drove up through the centre of the city to the hotel! It was not until the next day when we picked up a tourist map of Debrecen that we realised that the journey was three times as long as it should have been.
These bandits really do dent Hungary's tourist reputation and especially in Budapest I think that further action needs to be taken to curtail their activities. I wish there was a "taxi abuse" hotline run by the tourist authority so that complaints could be made very rapidly. At the time there seems so little one can do when you have literally been taken for a ride.

"Had a lovely time in the thermal baths and the hotel was quite nice. Was disappointed with the amount of graffiti around Budapest but this obviously out of your control. Once again I only have praise for the driver who looked after our transfers as he also ensured that I was able to obtain Hungary car stickers so that I could send them back to my father in Australia.

(I rather like the idea of being driven around the Lake Balaton area, especially given the excellent food and wine (!) on offer there. Always a good idea to be driven by someone else when touring the vineyards.)

"The hotel was above expectations. Although the night life in the area was very quiet, we were still very happy with it.
The transfers from the airport were well worthwhile and I would definitely recommend them to others as it is a long way and would seem very difficult to organise once you were there. The drivers were very helpful too.
